Course Objectives:

 

Integration of DNS concept into Pilates exercises on the floor and Pilates machines.

Exercises to improve body awareness, movement control, coordination and range of motion.

Focus on ideal parameters of movement: support, stepping forward function, biomechanics of movement, trunk stabilization, respiration, functional joint centration, spinal elongation.

Utilization of Pilates machines for proper motor learning of global movement patterns (undifferentiated, differentiated.

Ideal pattern of spinal flexion, extension, lateroflexion and rotation.

Choosing the right device and exercise to influence stability/mobility of individual body segments.

Identification of the functional threshold. Resistance settings and device selection for exercise modification.
