Review of developmental kinesiology principles. The influence of trunk stabilization on the isolated work of the upper and lower limbs
Basics of anatomy and physiology of the upper limb – kinesiological and biomechanical connections. Introduction to the most common diagnoses of the trunk, shoulder, and hand.
Basics of anatomy and physiology of the lower limb – kinesiological and biomechanical connections. Introduction to the most common diagnoses of the pelvis, hip, knee, and foot.
Disorders and correction of movement patterns and their impact on functional movements and sports postures.
Assessment of the patients and athlete with UE and LE problems both visually and practically. Practice of proper guidance and handling.
Exercise unit strategies for throwing and overhead athletes as well as for the general population, with an emphasis on the upper limb.
Exercise unit strategies for kicking sports, runners, and the general population, with an emphasis on the lower limb.
Quality of segment alignment and control of UE and LE movement without and with aids, in both open and closed kinetic chains.
Active exercises according to DNS principles. Modifying commonly used exercises in gyms and fitness centers, as well as in the conditioning training of athletes, into their physiological forms. Advanced modifications of positions from developmental kinesiology focusing on the UE/trunk and LE/Pelvis.
Case study example of working with an overhead athlete
Case study example of working with an athlete, focusing on the lower limb and trunk.
Demonstration exercise unit with a client, focusing on the UE/trunk and LE/Pelvis
Focus on the general athletic population and management of the exercise unit according to the needs of the client/athlete.
Correction of individual technique in the strength and conditioning preparation of the client/athlete.
Emphasis on linking practice with theory, with appropriate instruction to the client, setting the centered position, and modifying the position (against resistance, using aids) as part of exercise progression.
